Unmanned agricultural machinery is proficient in cutting rice and planting vegetables

From spring plowing and spring planting to summer management and autumn harvest, the entire process of crop growth can be remotely controlled and monitored – this concept is becoming a reality in the development of modern agriculture in Songjiang city. In Linjian Village, Xinbang Town, Songjiang District, Shanghai Tushibao Agricultural Professional Cooperative, unmanned agricultural machinery is “shining” on the new autumn harvest scene in the farmland.

Recently, the reporter arrived at the main rice production area of Tushibao Cooperative and saw the golden rice. The harvesters were shuttling through the fields, but when they approached, they found that the cab of the agricultural machinery was empty, with only the steering wheel rotating spontaneously. On the other side of more than 40 acres of farmland, green vegetables have already broken through the soil and are also sprayed with water and fertilizer by unmanned agricultural machinery.

The reason why these “big iron cows” can be kept busy in an orderly manner is entirely due to the control of the remote control in the hands of a few young people by the ridge of fields. With a few taps on the screen, the unmanned agricultural machine automatically adjusts parameters such as direction and speed, efficiently completing field operations. He Yangyang, the chairman of Shanghai Tushibao Agricultural Professional Cooperative, told reporters that when unmanned agricultural machinery recognizes obstacles ahead, it can also achieve emergency avoidance and improve work safety.

He Yangyang told reporters that after several years of exploration and accumulation, this year the Tu Shi Bao Cooperative has achieved unmanned operation throughout the entire process of cultivation, planting, management, and harvesting for the first time. In order to ensure the accuracy of unmanned agricultural machinery’s field operations, the cooperative took the lead in launching the “space rice” harvesting process, so as to debug and collect data from the unmanned agricultural machinery during the batch harvesting process, ensuring that the rice harvesting task can be completed more excellently in the later stage.

The operation of unmanned agricultural machinery may seem simple, but it requires a lot of technological support. The unmanned agricultural machinery of Tushibao Cooperative uses 5G agricultural network and is equipped with multiple new technologies such as 5G Beidou high-precision positioning. In addition, to achieve intelligent farming on unmanned farms, high-precision spatial data collection must be completed above the rural roads in the fields in advance, and a digital underlying model must be established to provide automatic map navigation support for agricultural machinery autonomous driving and drone spraying operations, and to plan routes for precise driving and flight.

Nowadays, technology is gradually maturing, and farms in Anhui, Shanxi, and Xinjiang are actively seeking cooperation. “Ma Hong, Technical Director of Shanghai Tushibao Agricultural Professional Cooperative, introduced that when Tushibao’s unmanned agricultural machinery operates in the field according to the designed path, the error can be controlled at the centimeter level. This standardized operation can ensure the yield and quality of crops. It is worth mentioning that agricultural machinery has data memory function, which can be said to be easier to use. Tu Shi Bao has been moving towards the goal of maximizing land value, hoping to not only liberate labor productivity but also attract more young forces to participate in agricultural development, “Ma Hong added.
