Unmanned Farm, Shangxin!

Entering the digital unmanned farm in Jiading District, Zhoujing Village, Waigang Town, several large agricultural machines are busy shuttling in the field – with the acceleration of the construction of unmanned farms in recent years, more and more unmanned agricultural machines are becoming the protagonists of spring plowing.

On site, staff operated unmanned tractors using mobile phones to work back and forth in the fields. After a series of steps such as plowing and raking, the areas where the machines passed by were flattened and renovated one by one.

On the other side of the farmland, an unmanned tractor equipped with a plowing machine is leveling the flooded fields. In the control center, operators can monitor the entire process of autonomous production operations of unmanned agricultural machinery equipment in different fields in real-time through a large screen. This year, Waigang Town is expected to plant an area of 20400 acres of rice, and is currently undergoing plowing before the National Day rice cultivation, which will provide favorable conditions for subsequent machine transplanting work.

In 2021, the first unmanned farm in the city will be built in Waigang. The project will adopt new generation technologies such as the Internet of Things, Big data, artificial intelligence, 5G, etc. to transform the existing agricultural machinery such as Rice transplanter, self-propelled pesticide sprayer, harvester and tractor into unmanned operation. Unmanned agricultural machinery has overcome the problems of low efficiency and uneven spacing in manual operations, “said Sun Jiayun, the relevant person in charge of Waigang Agricultural Machinery Service Professional Cooperative. At present, the 1600 acre unmanned farm in Waigang Town has basically achieved unmanned farming, planting, management, and harvesting, and is about to undergo municipal acceptance.

Relying on the Beidou satellite navigation and positioning technology, we have achieved breakthroughs in key technical aspects such as high-precision positioning and core algorithms in the early stage, and further advanced our technology on the basis of realizing the original unmanned operation. “Wang Cong, the technical director of the Smart Agriculture Division II of Shanghai Lianshi Navigation Technology Co., Ltd., who is conducting technical debugging on unmanned equipment, introduced that when planning the path before the operation, we had to drive agricultural machinery to check in multiple times in the rice field, This year, during the slack season, the collected data will be uploaded to the cloud in advance. Currently, one click path generation can be achieved, and immediate operations can be carried out.

In order to actively promote the upgrade of version 2.0 of digital unmanned farms, the hardware of unmanned farms is also constantly being updated. “This year we added 10 unmanned tractors, 13 unmanned Rice transplanter and 3 unmanned plant protection machines, and trained more than 20 agricultural machinery operators in the cooperatives. Next, we will make full use of these modern agricultural machinery equipment to achieve safe and efficient unmanned and intelligent agricultural machinery industry, and strive to form a 3890 mu scale whole process unmanned operation demonstration this year.” Sun Jiayun introduced.
