Strengthening Peanut Field Management Technology to Boost Peanut Yield and Income

In order to explore diversified planting modes and guide farmers to plant peanuts scientifically, in recent years, Kalpin County in Xinjiang has actively adjusted its agricultural industrial structure, planting “new, special and excellent” Cash crop according to local conditions, and turning “small peanuts” into “golden beans” for local people to increase income and become rich.

It is understood that this year, Kalpin County further promoted the new centralized planting mode, selected the peanut variety Huayu 917 that is suitable for mechanical harvesting and well reflected in the market, and used such planting management methods as deep plowing, wide ridging, and water fertilizer integration to strive to increase peanut yield and harvest. It is reported that a total of 800 mu of peanuts will be planted in Kalpin County this year, and it is expected that the harvest period will begin in the first ten days of September.

Recently, in the peanut planting base of Xinghua Village Scenic Area in Kalpin County, green peanut seedlings are growing well. The workers are busy with chemical control and field management work.

In order to effectively deal with the situation that aphids cause peanut leaf curling, affect photosynthesis and reduce peanut production during the seedling stage of peanuts, technicians, on the basis of UAV spraying, mobilize staff to go deep into the field to pull weeds and correct seedlings, apply chemicals spray and other operations, further improve the plant’s resistance to stress and achieve the goal of ensuring production and increasing production.

Wang Yongxin, the person in charge of the peanut planting base in Xinghua Village Scenic Area, Kalpin County, said: “After repeated tests, we found that the soil here is sandy soil, and the temperature difference between day and night is large, and the frost free period is long, so it is very suitable for planting high-quality peanuts. This year we planted 490 mu of peanuts, all of which were planted in dry land, and drip irrigation was used for drainage. At present, the emergence rate is quite good, and it is estimated that the yield per mu can reach about 400 kilograms.”

Elxidin Rezak, a member of the Party Leadership Group of Kalpin County Agriculture and Rural Affairs Bureau, said, “This year, Kalpin County further helped peanut growers improve their planting efficiency by promoting mechanized planting, supporting policies and other measures. At present, three times of irrigation and fertilizer have been conducted, and trace elements have also been sprayed to assist peanut growth, while Pest control work has been carried out.”

In recent years, Kalpin County has been constantly optimizing the agricultural industrial structure, vigorously cultivating characteristic planting industries such as Qiamagu, peanuts and peppers, continuously playing a leading and exemplary role in the industry, strengthening brand building, continuing to expand the planting scale of characteristic industries, improving infrastructure construction, promoting the industry towards standardized management, scientific planting, mechanized production and large-scale development, and injecting fresh water into the rural revitalization of Kalpin County, Better mobilize villagers to achieve income growth and prosperity.
