Beijing optimizes the formation of 11 modern agricultural industry technology innovation teams

Recently, the reporter learned from the deployment meeting of the Beijing Innovation Team for the Modern Agricultural Industry Technology System held by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs that Beijing has optimized the formation of 11 innovation teams, aiming to achieve a contribution rate of 77% to agricultural science and technology progress during the 14th Five Year Plan period, a significant increase in the independent innovation rate of efficient facility agricultural technology, equipment, and varieties, and a coverage rate of over 98% for improved varieties, Committed to developing a group of agricultural core technologies with independent intellectual property rights.

It is reported that the Beijing Innovation Team has been focusing on building a modern agricultural industry technology system with agricultural products as the unit and industry as the main line since its launch in 2009, closely connecting various links from production to dining table, production to consumption, research and development to market. From the initial 3 teams to the end of the 13th Five Year Plan, a total of 10 innovation teams were built in the city. During the 13th Five Year Plan period, a total of 8597 achievements were produced, driving 172000 farmers and achieving an increase of 1.96 billion yuan in farmers’ income.

With the continuous and in-depth implementation of the rural revitalization strategy in Beijing, there have been significant changes in agricultural production space and industrial scale. In 2022, Beijing has re optimized and established 11 modern agricultural industrial technology system Beijing innovation teams, including 7 industrial innovation teams (facility vegetables, grain crops, edible fungi, characteristic crops, livestock, poultry, fishery), 4 functional innovation teams (landscape leisure, digital agriculture, ecological cycle and low-carbon development, industrial economy and policies).

Next, the 11 innovation teams in Beijing will focus on three main areas of work: firstly, benchmarking the advanced levels at home and abroad, focusing on the requirements of Beijing’s agricultural and rural modernization development, establishing a new agricultural research organization model, focusing on solving key, prominent, and common problems that hinder the development of agricultural science and technology, and promoting the modernization of the agricultural industry in the suburbs of Beijing; The second is to focus on the key goals of industrial development in Beijing in the new era, carry out collaborative research, integrated demonstration, and promotion work around the urgent needs of industrial development, and serve the development of the agricultural industry; The third is to implement the main responsibility of the project, face the needs of the industry and the forefront of technology, strengthen collaborative innovation and services, and continuously achieve new results.
