Smart Agriculture: Drones Assisting Wheat Field Management

In March 2023, during the period of wheat returning to green, Qujia Village, Baoshan Street, Jinan City contacted the street agriculture committee to spray nutrient fertilizer on the wheat fields using drones, promoting the healthy growth of wheat and fully safeguarding food security.

The modern high-tech mechanized planting mode of agricultural drones represents the future development trend, which not only liberates villagers from heavy agricultural labor, alleviates rural labor shortage, saves costs and increases efficiency, but also improves the modernization development level of agricultural machinery and plant protection, creating good social and economic benefits for the vigorous development of agriculture.

In November 2022, over 3500 acres of rice were harvested at the Hujia’an Rice Planting Base in the Lingang Sub district Office of Jinan High tech Zone. This year, there were differences in harvesting methods, with unmanned harvesters equipped with Beidou navigation and 5G network support joining the harvesting team, ensuring the return of thousands of acres of rice and sorghum particles to the warehouse. Through intelligent upgrading, integrating precision agricultural aviation technology, modern agronomy and agricultural machinery equipment, green plant protection technology, drones, robots, artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, big data, cloud computing, 3S, 5G, and many other high-tech technologies, we will promote the transformation of rice production towards full process intelligence.
