Shangrao, Jiangxi: Spraying drones”quench thirst”orchards

In the Xinrong Planting and Breeding Professional Cooperative located in Danan Town, Guangfeng District, Shangrao City, Jiangxi Province, a plant protection drone is operating. After being programmed by the technician, the drone shuttles back and forth, flies at ultra-low altitude, and sprays accurately. It replaces manual work to complete tasks such as pest control, replenishing foliar moisture, and spraying foliar fertilizer. Drought resistance agent and foliar fertilizer are evenly scattered on fruit trees to enhance the drought resistance of fruit trees. The whole process is fast and efficient.

“In addition to the traditional pumping irrigation, we used drones to spray the fruit trees with fertilizers to increase the drought resistance of the fruit trees.” said Xu Weifeng, deputy director of the Fruit Industry Management Office of Guangfeng District. The drones have effectively increased the drought resistance of fruit trees. The 520-acre Majia pomelo planting base has “quenched thirst”.

Despite being scorched by high temperature, the pomelo trees in the park are still lush and lush, with a lot of fruit bearing. The next two months will be a critical period for grapefruit to be “sweetened”. Whether the grapefruit is good or not, it is necessary to replenish water and fertilize.

Zhu Xinrong, head of the Xinrong Planting and Breeding Professional Cooperative, introduced that with the support of the local agricultural department, they used agricultural technology equipment that integrates water and fertilizer, and the drone plant protection technology can greatly reduce labor costs, shorten operation time, and avoid Workers are exposed to the sun for a long time outdoors. “In such a hot day, workers no longer need to go to the ground to fertilize. In the past, one person could only work on 3 acres of orchards a day. Now, one person can operate 200 to 300 acres a day with drones.” Zhu Xinrong said that in the current extreme weather conditions of high temperature and no rain At the same time, the front-line management personnel really felt the benefits brought by the application of modern agricultural technology to the development of the industry.

It is reported that plant protection drones have played a great role in the local drought, and the effect is remarkable. According to the introduction of the technicians of Jifei Technology, the original manual operation requires 150 kilograms of water per mu of land, while the drones operate every mu of land every day. Only 15 kilograms of water is needed, not only is the grapefruit tree not “thirsty”, but the orchard can save a lot of water.

At present, the pomelo in the cooperative is growing well as a whole, and the fruit farmers are looking forward to the golden autumn season when the pomelo is full of golden branches.
