Sanya mobilizes drones to control late rice pests diseases

During the epidemic prevention and control period, what should I do if diseases and insect pests such as rice planthopper, bacterial blight and bacterial streak appear in late rice in the booting stage, poplar flowering stage, and tillering stage? On the 2nd, the Sanya Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs held a video conference on mobilizing drones to control late rice pests and diseases, striving to complete the control tasks as quickly as possible without missing agricultural affairs.

At present, Sanya late rice and early transplanted rice fields are in the booting stage, partial flowering stage, and late transplanted rice fields are in the tillering stage. The monitoring of the Sanya Agricultural Technology Center found that currently, the key disease and insect pest of rice in Sanya is rice planthopper, and the amount of insects is about 2 times higher than that of the same period last year. In addition, there are a large number of white-backed planthopper adults in Guoling Tianyang, Tianya District, Sanya, which is an invasive source of insects. Combined with meteorological factors and historical data, it is expected that rice planthoppers will increase in Sanya City in the later period, and some fields will be “lodged”.

Recently, the rainy season in Sanya has also been frequent. Under the rainy climate, rice bacterial blight and thin stripe disease can lead to the prevalence of these diseases and insect pests in only 5 to 10 days.

In order to prevent and control diseases and insect pests such as rice planthopper, bacterial blight and bacterial streak, Sanya Agriculture and Rural Affairs Bureau mobilized drones and pilots to control late rice diseases and insect pests while doing a good job in epidemic prevention and control. The agricultural and rural bureaus of each district strengthen communication with all functional departments in their jurisdictions, coordinate and do a good job in the prevention and control services and organize smooth travel, and strive to complete the prevention and control tasks as quickly as possible, so as not to miss the agricultural time.
