Drone rice field management saves time, effort, and production

On July 19th, at the “Luxian Medium Rice+Regenerated Rice Ton Grain Field Demonstration Zone” in Wugusi Village, Chaohe Town, Luxian County, Chen Yingping, Deputy Chief of the Agricultural Technology Promotion Service Unit and Agricultural Technology Promotion Researcher of the Luxian County Agriculture and Rural Bureau, was explaining the fertilization essentials and precautions for recycled rice to the machine operators who were about to carry out the fertilization task, ensuring precise fertilization during the golden period of rice heading, not only protecting medium rice but also promoting the germination of recycled rice. The period of 10-15 days before the large-scale harvest of medium rice is a critical period for the application of ratooning rice grain bud fertilizer. The purpose of applying grain bud fertilizer is to promote high yield of medium rice and ratooning rice, so we must seize the opportunity to apply promoting bud fertilizer and lay a good material foundation for large-scale ratooning rice, “said Chen Yingping.

A drone loaded with urea shuttled through the fields, carrying out fertilization tasks, and quickly completed the fertilization work for 200 acres of demonstration rice, achieving a time-saving and labor-saving effect. The current temperature is relatively high, and manual fertilization is difficult. Especially due to labor constraints, it is not possible to organize manual fertilization on a large scale. Using drones for fertilization is fast, efficient, and effective, and can easily complete 200 to 300 acres of land every day. “Chen Yingping said.

According to the “10000 mu demonstration area, 1000 mu demonstration film, and 100 mu research field”, Luxian County vigorously promotes the green, high-quality, and efficient creation of rice, as well as the adjustment of high-quality rice planting structure. It vigorously promotes the integration of five good varieties, namely “good varieties, good methods, good opportunities, good fields, and good systems”. It mainly promotes high-quality rice varieties such as Yixiangyou 2115 and Deyou 4727 in the national standard, and promotes the mechanization of the entire process of cultivation, planting, prevention, and harvesting, achieving agricultural machinery and agronomic support, and increasing rice yield, quality, and income.

This year, Luxian County has built 20 core exhibition areas for “medium rice+regenerated rice” ton grain fields, demonstrating and driving the construction of 50000 mu of “medium rice+regenerated rice” ton grain fields, promoting 100000 mu of high-quality varieties of “Daoxiang Cup”, and signing rice orders of 200000 mu with enterprises such as Kaiyuan Grain and Xinhe Agriculture, to improve the efficiency of grain planting for farmers. This year, 556000 mu of rice will be planted in the entire county, with a planned reserve of 520000 mu of regenerated rice and a harvesting area of 470000 mu. Based on an average yield of 170 kilograms per mu, the total yield of regenerated rice can exceed 80000 tons.
