Heze: Developing Characteristic Planting to Assist Rural Revitalization

Wang Daolong, an onion planter in Dongming County, said, “This year’s yield benefit is fairly good, and it has been booked out before harvest. This season’s workers are nearly 5000, and more than 300000 yuan of wages are paid. This year’s benefit is 1500 yuan to 2000 yuan per mu of land.”

The onion planting base is located in the Yellow River beach area, with abundant water resources, suitable for the growth of onions. The onions grown are large in size and have a good taste, attracting merchants from multiple regions to compete for acquisition.

The Caiyuan Market Town of Dongming County, taking advantage of local resources, guided the villagers to vigorously develop the planting of characteristic Cash crop, greatly increased the villagers’ industrial income, and laid a good foundation for promoting rural revitalization.

Pan Maohua, deputy mayor of Caiyuan Market Town, Dongming County, said, “At present, the whole town has planted more than 4500 mu of garlic and 3000 mu of safflower. This year, for the first time, more than 500 mu of onions were planted, which has yielded a bumper harvest. The economic benefits are very considerable, and there is no shortage of sales. Next, our town will vigorously promote it to help farmers increase production and income.”
