Chongqing’s smart agriculture has become “new”

Smart agriculture is the future development direction of agriculture. Recently, the reporter learned from the Municipal Academy of Agricultural Sciences that a number of key projects such as fish and vegetable symbiosis AI factories, seedling factories, and unmanned orchards have been completed, making new progress in the development of smart agriculture in our city.

Through invisible underground pipelines, the feces collected below the fish pond are treated and directly transported to the vegetable area for irrigation. The two can be cleverly combined – this is the fish vegetable symbiosis AI factory.

The relevant person in charge of the Municipal Academy of Agricultural Sciences introduced that after 7 years of efforts, the institute has formed an overall solution for the technology and equipment of the fish and vegetable symbiosis intelligent factory, and created the first industrial fish and vegetable symbiosis production technology and equipment innovation research and development platform in China – the fish and vegetable symbiosis AI factory. The factory can achieve an annual output of 20 tons/mu of vegetables per unit area, a fish farming density of 100 kilograms/cubic meter, and a shortened growth cycle of 1/2.

The Xinglong Town Smart Seedling Factory, located in Yubei District, mainly engages in industrialized production of high-quality vegetable seedlings, with an annual output of 150 million high-quality seedlings, supplying 80% of the vegetable seedling market in Yubei. We have established a digital twin management platform to connect existing equipment according to standard communication protocols, achieving unified and centralized data collection and management. “The relevant person in charge of the Municipal Academy of Agricultural Sciences said that the factory has achieved automatic operations in the vegetable planting process, such as matrix unpacking, matrix stirring, and automatic stacking of seedling hole plates; In the logistics transportation process, the system achieves an average work efficiency of 1080 trays/hour through automatic transportation of any seedbed in the seeding and seedling workshops through transfer racks.

The Municipal Academy of Agricultural Sciences has also successfully developed the “Unmanned Orchard Digital Platform” for the first time in the western mountainous and hilly areas. This platform is mainly aimed at mountain agricultural parks or industrial bases, achieving precise digital management of production processes such as smart site selection and park construction. It was rated as a special contribution case at the National Digital Rural Construction Promotion Conference.
