Qingpu Modern Agricultural Park

Carrying out low-carbon demonstration is an effective way to implement the goals of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality, and lead and advocate the green low-carbon transformation of the whole society. Last year, Qingpu Modern Agricultural Park was selected as the 2023 Shanghai low-carbon demonstration and creation unit, and it is also the only selected unit in Qingpu District.

On the other side of the land, a patch of broad bean seedlings has been planted, and it is understood that rice and broad bean rotation experiments are being conducted here. The root system of broad bean is developed, which can form a large number of high-quality rhizobia, play a good role in nitrogen fixation, and increase the content of soil organic matter. After the field is plowed, the broad bean straw can become the base fertilizer for planting rice. This method can not only improve soil fertility, reduce the amount of chemical fertilizer, but also reduce various carbon emissions in farmland.

In addition to ongoing technological research, on the other side of the park, the agricultural waste treatment center has been put into daily production. We will centrally treat all agricultural waste in the park and use dry anaerobic fermentation technology to produce commercial organic fertilizer, which will be returned to the field. Through this model, we can effectively reduce the direct return of agricultural straw to the field, thereby reducing greenhouse gas emissions and achieving the goal of reducing emissions and carbon sequestration in agriculture, The fertilizer produced using this method has obtained organic fertilizer certification from the Shanghai Municipal Agriculture and Rural Affairs Commission

It is understood that the 2023 low-carbon development practice zone will complete the mid-term evaluation of its creation by the end of 2024 and the acceptance work of its creation by the end of 2025. In the process of creating low-carbon demonstration units, Qingpu Modern Agricultural Park has always been focused on “improving ecological environment quality and promoting green transformation and development”, with “ecological priority, classified implementation, and fine management” as its characteristics. Next, the park will continue to explore new models of green and low-carbon development, promote projects such as complementary aquaculture and fishing, greenhouse photovoltaic green energy, and promote research and demonstration of low-carbon agricultural technology, To provide strong support for comprehensively improving the appearance and image of agricultural and rural areas, creating a new benchmark for the integrated development of agricultural industries, and providing new highlights for the development of modern agriculture in Shanghai’s urban areas.
