On the other side of the greenhouse where sweet melons are grown, each plant is also thriving. Planters are communicating with the first secretary of the village work team, Su Jian, about the changes brought about by the use of new planting techniques. Su Jian said, “By providing key guidance to some farmers and leveraging the new agricultural technology achievements of the Old Farmers Group, the villagers can see for real and actively accept new planting technologies.

It is reported that the Shayao Village Modern Agricultural Industrial Park is operated by Shanxi Laonong Shilou Agricultural Management Company and has established a long-term strategic partnership with the national fruit chain seller “Baiguoyuan” company. It adopts a new order agriculture production and operation model characterized by “first finding the market, then focusing on production, linking production and sales, and determining production based on sales”.

Since the establishment of the park, the Old Farmers Group has taken driving and strengthening the collective economy of the village as its responsibility, inviting technical experts to provide hands-on training, and the operation team to provide face-to-face assistance. It focuses on “nanny style” professional technical training and services before and during production, and cultivates a new type of professional farmer team that “loves agriculture, understands technology, and is good at management”. In the aspects of seed source, planting, harvesting, and circulation, production is strictly managed in accordance with the quality level standard system of benchmark customers in major industries such as Baiguoyuan, in order to comprehensively improve the level of professional management and achieve sustainable development of production and sales.

As of now, the group has revitalized more than 300 old greenhouses in Shilou County, driving more than 60 farmers to find employment and increasing their income by more than 400000 yuan.
