Launch the “Smart New Farmers” Cultivation Project to Assist in the Development of Smart Agriculture

With the continuous support of national policies and the integration of various technologies such as the Internet and the Internet of Things, traditional agriculture is constantly undergoing transformation, and a higher stage of development – the era of smart agriculture – is quietly approaching! In 2016, the No. 1 central document of the Central Government clearly proposed to promote “Internet plus” modern agriculture, apply modern information technologies such as the Internet of Things, cloud computing, big data, and mobile Internet, and promote the transformation and upgrading of the entire agricultural industry chain. Agriculture, rural areas, and farmers are about to face a new era of development that belongs to them. With the booming “Internet plus agriculture”, smart agriculture is expected to become a catalyst for agricultural informatization, providing the possibility for Chinese agriculture to catch up with the historical train of the third industrial revolution characterized by the Internet and information technology, and catch up with the modern agriculture in developed countries.

However, the prospects are promising, and the road is winding. China’s agriculture, farmers, and rural areas have always been vulnerable groups. For most farmers, incorporating Internet and Internet of Things technology into agricultural production, circulation, sales, and other links faces problems such as technological lag, lack of infrastructure, talent shortage, and funding shortage. In summary, the biggest bottleneck for the development of smart agriculture is the lack of people and money. How to break this bottleneck? At the national level, it is necessary to increase financial, tax, and financial support for internet agricultural enterprises at the national level, while also increasing the cultivation of agricultural and rural talents. In the direction of cultivating agricultural professionals, the government plays a leading role, and all sectors of society also need to actively cooperate and support.

Recently, the “Smart New Farmers” cultivation project led by the China Smart Agriculture Industry Alliance was officially launched. The cultivation project focuses on systematic training, with a curriculum system covering registered agricultural planners, modern agricultural professional managers, customized courses (such as agricultural big data training courses, facility agricultural technology training courses), study tours, and other diverse courses. The training content includes agricultural policies, agricultural product marketing, business management Agricultural technology, agricultural e-commerce, agricultural brand building, and other multi-level and multi-level; Emphasizing the practicality of training, the alliance will recruit students as members, establish detailed records for them, and provide follow-up services in the later stage to timely understand the application of students’ knowledge and new needs. This follow-up training service model is very novel for the agricultural field and has won widespread attention from all sectors of society!
