Drones act as “bees” to pollinate pear flowers, saving two-thirds of their branches

Since March 15th, unmanned aerial vehicles have been flying around the Mili base, scrambling to pollinate. “Pear flowers bloom from the foot of the mountain to the top of the mountain, and drones work according to the rhythm of flower blooming. In five days, the pollination of Guang’an honey pear can be completed with high quality,” Ouyang Xiaoling said.

The application of technological equipment such as drones has made fruit farmers feel the role of technological innovation in agricultural production. The person in charge of Zhongnong Xingxing Agricultural Means of Production Professional Cooperative introduced that compared to traditional manual pollination, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have the characteristics of simple operation, fast speed, low cost, and large-scale operation. UAVs can not only better seize pollination opportunities but also reduce waste, achieving the best results of pollination, and also solving the problem of insufficient rural labor.

Ouyang Xiaoling said that in the future, in addition to pollinating the 40000 mu honey pear base in Guang’an, unmanned aerial vehicles will also be fully invested in various aspects such as pest control, fertilization, and weeding, providing a solid scientific and technological guarantee for improving fruit quality and increasing income for fruit farmers.
