This year, Haidian also adopted a state-level green prevention and control technology — new sustained-release granules developed by the Institute of Plant Protection, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. Mei Xiangdong, an associate researcher at the institute, said the biopesticide granules can be dropped into the corn horn by drones, which can greatly increase the duration of maize retention and protect maize from migratory pests during this period. At least 36% more effective than conventional chemical pesticide sprays.
