5G support helps increase production and income in modern agriculture

What is “5G+Internet of Things+Cloud Computing+Agricultural Production” equivalent to? Recently, in a vegetable greenhouse in Qinjiazhuang Village, Pingcheng Town, Lingchuan County, Jincheng City, Shanxi Province, the reporter found the answer. Here, agriculture and technology are perfectly integrated: staff can operate various facilities such as fans and rolling curtains in the greenhouse through their mobile phones; The IoT sensors installed in various parts of the park can provide comprehensive support for production by feeding back temperature, humidity, photosynthetic effective radiation and other data to the platform.

Strolling in the greenhouse, one can see small cabbage growing on a rotating “staircase”, Yuexiu strawberries knotted in a hanging basin, purple cabbage that attracts attention like a large peony flower, and a fish vegetable symbiosis system where vegetables are grown on top and fish are raised below… They stand neatly in rows and rows, making people not feel like they are in the vegetable greenhouse, but rather strolling in a colorful garden.

This is a 5G ‘smart greenhouse’ built by a mobile company for us, including 1 glass greenhouse, 3 solar greenhouses, 2 spring and autumn greenhouses, and 500 acres of orchard. “Niu Yongjun, the business manager of Shanxi Yilu Agricultural Recycling Technology Co., Ltd., told reporters, Qinjiazhuang Village is a key health and wellness characteristic village along the ‘Taihang No.1’ tourism highway, belonging to the provincial-level rural revitalization demonstration village. Its vegetable park, as the largest facility vegetable park in Lingchuan County, has a solid foundation for the facility vegetable industry. Building a modern agricultural facility vegetable base with digital precision planting as the theme not only enriches the variety of our vegetable products, but also provides strong technical support for the formation of product brands and industrial upgrading

In April of this year, China Mobile Communications Group Shanxi Co., Ltd. Lingchuan County Branch and Shanxi Yilv Agricultural Recycling Technology Co., Ltd. jointly built a 5G facility vegetable standardized production demonstration park project in Qinjiazhuang Village. The blessing of 5G reflects the “wisdom” of the smart greenhouse in all aspects. The project fully leverages the advantages of China Mobile’s cloud network integration and utilizes new technologies such as 5G, IoT, big data, and cloud computing to establish a precision vegetable planting cloud platform. IoT sensors deployed in different locations within the park are like a small ‘weather station’ that can effectively monitor environmental data such as air temperature and humidity, carbon dioxide, photosynthetic effective radiation, and soil environment Tang Huibin, project leader of the Digital Intelligence Integration Center in the Customer Collection Department of Shanxi Mobile Jincheng Branch, told reporters. It is reported that after real-time feedback of relevant data to the cloud platform, through big data technology modeling, intelligent controls such as automatic irrigation, automatic rolling curtains, and automatic ventilation were ultimately achieved through integrated operations on the large screen, PC, and mobile phones.

At present, nearly 3000 square meters of glass greenhouses can be managed in real-time through mobile phones, which not only improves the yield and quality of crops, but also significantly reduces resource waste. It is reported that the fans and rolling shutters inside the original glass shed must be fully opened by staff on site, and then closed on site after one or two hours. The entire process cannot be separated from people. According to the prompts on the mobile app, one person can simultaneously water multiple greenhouses, truly liberating the labor force.
